Interview with J. H. Fultz concerning his experiences as owner and operator of Fultz's News Agency in Denton, Texas. Fultz discusses his family background, the development of Sweetwater and Abilene, selling newspapers in West Texas, the Depression period in Abilene, the magazine delivery business in Abliene, as well as his operation of a wholesale magazine business in Denton in 1939 and a retail operation in 1941. He also talks about his business and social activities on the Denton Courthouse Square in the 1940s, the expansion of magazine franchising, the sale of his wholesale operation in 1979, and his magazine delivery schedule. Fultz shares his views on the demise of popular magazines in the 1950s, the comic book controversy, the financing of his business, the Golden Triangle Mall development, government regulations, civic activities, and book prices.
